A new wave of African cinema

Your support matters

The Realness Institute promotes cultural understanding, open exchange and intellectual and artistic development of filmmakers on the African continent.

We are aware of the important role that the film industry plays in macro-economic growth through employment, tourism and infrastructure development. We empower filmmakers through our programming initiatives, giving them the ability to create sustainable businesses as filmmakers.

We would not be able to deliver this initiative without the support of our gracious donors who feel just as strongly about African cinema as we do.

Our projects are not-for-profit. All funding goes to running the programmes, including consulting and expert fees, scholarships for selected participants as well as accommodation and venue hire.

Your investment in the Realness Institute ensures the continued growth and development of flourishing cinematic voices in Africa.
