Thomas Hakim

Creative Producer's Indaba 2020/21

Thomas Hakim funded petit chaos with Julien Graff in 2018, after working as a producer manager and producer for several companies, such as Geko Films and Why Not. He works with directors from different backgrounds - cinema or contemporary art - and countries - France, India, Rwanda, China, Vietnam. The short films he has produced have been selected in festivals such as IFFR, Clermont Ferrand, Indie Lisboa, Palm Springs and Dok Leipzig. His first produced feature, "A Night of Knowing Nothing" by Payal Kapadia premiered at the 2021 Directors' Fortnight where it won the Golden Eye for best documentary. It was then selected in more than 90 festivals, released in five countries and won 18 prizes. Thomas participated with projects at Cinemart, Sheffield Doc Market, Atlas Workshops and FidLab. He is a Berlinale Talent alumni, an Indaba Creative producers and a Locarno’s Match Me! participant.
