Development Executive Traineeship 2021

Anneke started her career in the South African industry as an actress, landing a major role in Franz Marx's 2005 drama series, "Dit Wat Stom Is". After completing masters' level courses in playwriting and screenwriting at WITS, she cut her teeth as an associate and creative producer on three feature films, a sitcom and two drama series. At the same time, she completed the NFVF's Spark and Sediba programs in Screenwriting, qualifying as a Script Editor. She spent the last 7 years of her career as a commissioning editor for Multichoice's kykNET and M-Net channels, overseeing large scripted portfolios and acting as script editor and executive producer on everything from short and feature films to sitcoms and international co-production drama series. High points of her career include attending the Durban Film Festival and Edinburgh Film Festival's Talent Labs, receiving two WGSA nominations for Best Writing in Comedy in 2014, writing and directing her first fully funded short film in 2014, under the auspices of the NFVF's Female Filmmaker Project, being selected for the 2018 Berlinale Talent Campus and participating as a trainee development executive in The Realness Institute's inaugural Episodic Lab for Netflix in 2021.
